Welcome to the Canadian Shorinji Kempo Federation!

Shorinji Kempo was established in Tadotsu, Japan in October 1947. Our founder ("Kaiso") Doshin So aimed to create a training system that would enable people to develop themselves and contribute to society. Since that time, Kaiso's techniques and philosophy have struck a chord with people all over the world. Shorinji Kempo branches are now active in 39 countries spread across six continents.

Shorinji Kempo has been practiced in Canada since 1980 and we now have official branches in four Provinces.

The Canadian Shorinji Kempo Federation ("CSKF" or "Federation") emerged from the longstanding bonds of friendship and collaboration between the official Shorinji Kempo branches of Canada. Our Federation was formed in 2013 and was incorporated the following year as a federal non-profit organization.

Our goal is to further support collaboration between the Canadian branches and develop Shorinji Kempo widely in Canada.

We look forward to welcoming you to our dojo!
